THE UNIVERSE IS LIKE A GIANT COPY MACHINE. WHAT YOU PUT OUT, YOU GET BACK.
If you're putting out peace, love, and positivity... whether that's energetically or verbally you will get that back in return. But you have to consciously day in and day out remind yourself of this, the more your practice it the more you perfect it and it will become second nature for you. I personally constantly work to keep improving in that area, especially as I teach my kids this principle. As they learn it, they're more inclined to call me out on it, which is awesome... most of the time.
A few days ago my son and I were walking in town, which has a ton of crosswalks. There are many spots where cars have to yield to pedestrians and one failed to do so. I gave a big wave to let the guy know he nearly hit us, and we continued on our way. My son instantly looked at me and said:
"Dad, why'd you do that?"
To which I responded, "I'm teaching him a lesson and I guess I kind of wanted to make fun of him and make him feel bad for not paying attention."
“What good does that do?” he said.
I thought about it and realized that it makes me feel good to call someone out. We had a great discussion about this, and in my family, we often use humor to call each other out. It’s not always funny, but I now understand that the root of this behavior is an anger or bullying mentality.
Thank you, Nick, for getting me to realize this. Instead of putting out the energy of antagonizing, making fun of, or bullying, I should just have been grateful that the car didn’t hit us!
That minor little tweak in my thought process was brilliant and helpful for me in my continued development to have success with less stress, tap into my deepest emotion of love, and not subconsciously criticize others.
This is your daily reminder that the universe is a giant copy machine and what you put in, will come back.
The seeds you plant will determine the trees you grow.
