ACT LIKE YOU MATTER

Updated: Mar 24, 2023

I’ve had so many people lately, clients and friends, who say they’re stressed out, feeling guilty, beating themselves up, and are unsure of their life’s purpose. I believe dealing with this pressure is all about making time for myself and acting like iMatter. If I continue to blow myself off then I’ll look at things outside myself and most likely be frustrated. At the end of the day, it’s about mentoring ourselves and tapping into our inner genius. It may not sound easy but what has worked for me is to make time for myself and fanatically schedule time to protect myself. Ultimately to know that iMatter and to be myself.

What does that mean to make time and fanatically schedule?

To me, it means to have a weekly check-in where I tap into what’s going on inside my mind and inside my heart. It’s having a safe space to share it with myself and to get it all out there. I can then solve issues, set up priorities, and create blogs.

That process creates the ‘wow’ moment where I realize that everything is okay and I’m going to have a great week.

I’m connected.

I’m clear.

I have conviction.

It’s about having that weekly practice and that ritual in place as well as a daily practice. It’s important to schedule and protect that time.

The weekly practice I personally use is the Take 5 Check-In. This is where I answer eight questions and list the whys and the next steps behind them. It usually takes about 10 minutes until someone has gone through it a few times. It drives things that I can share and gets everything out there so then I can solve issues.

The Take 5 Check-In is really my clarity break. We call it “Take 5” because as I continue to do it more and more, I can share in about five minutes what’s going on in my mind and in my heart. I have a space to share it, you know where I’m at and I know where you’re at, how we can help each other to have a great day or week.

The daily practice I use is the 331. You take about five minutes each morning to complete it, I commit to five days a week, that way I’m giving myself a break and not doing it every day.

The first part of the 331 practice is What Matters Most. Ask yourself “What are my top three things that matter most to me right now?”. Recently I read in a book that it’s tough for many to know the grand purposes in their life and so to just focus on just winning the day. So you start by focusing on the three most important things to you on that day.

Next are your Top 3 Action Items. These are the most important tasks you need to focus on for the day, the things that once they’re completed makes it a great f’ing day.

Lastly, is the If It Were Up to Me section. That is part of shifting the conversation. “If it were up to me people wouldn’t suck” so you shift the conversation in your mind and in your heart to present it as “If it were up to me people are awesome and I’m awesome”. Ultimately it helps me with my life’s purpose or my day’s purpose.

If it were up to me today’s awesome.

If it were up to me I’ll have a major breakthrough.

To put intention out there and use that universal process of what you put out there you get back.
